Rev. Kenneth E. Ogbudu, the District Secretary, defected to join Rev. Amaugo / Rev. Paul Emeka’s group. This led to his suspension by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee conducted bye-election on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 for the post of District Secretary. This election saw the election of Rev. Godwin I. Iroka, PhD, who was the Protem District Secretary, as the main scribe of the constituency and Rev. Nnamdi Ogbonna as one of the presbyters.
Since the inception of the district till date, Umuahia North (Jerusalem) District is making great strides in administration, projects and programmes. District and sectional programmes take place smoothly. Revival and spiritual growth is evident in many of our local churches and sections.
Furthermore, the young district purchased a Jeep Commander vehicle as the official car for the District Superintendent. Because of the need to build a ultra modern residence for our District Superintendent, a development committee was constituted and mandated to accomplish this task. This committee has worked tireless towards the achievement of this goal. Through our monthly Block Day donations and other fund raise exercises, the district has commenced moulding of blocks and purchase of building materials for this enormous project. Presently, this building is at the foundation level.
We thank the Lord for His grace and mercy towards Umuahia North (Jerusalem) District. All glory be ascribed to Him forever – Amen!
